#741 - Du hast die Wahl!  Random Stuff vom 05.06.2024

Am Sonntag, 9. Juni 2024 wird in Österreich zum siebten Mal die Wahl zum Europäischen Parlament stattfinden. Alle fünf Jahre wählen 450 Millionen Bürger*innen der Europäischen Union die Mitglieder des Europäischen Parlaments, der einzigen direkt gewählten transnationalen Versammlung der Welt. Die große Chance, bei einer so umfangreichen Demokratie mitmischen zu können, ist nicht selbstverständlich, dessen ist sich auch der Mitternachtsreigen bewusst. So sollen die Europa-Tracks heute ein Statement darstellen, uns gemeinsam für ein großes, friedliches Europa einzusetzen. Natürlich will und kann der Mitternachtsreigen keine Wahlwerbung betreiben - obwohl, eigentlich schon: Wahl-Werbung! Werbung dafür, sein Privileg zur Wahl gehen zu dürfen zu nutzen. Werbung dafür, seine starke Stimme einzusetzen für starken Zusammenhalt. Wählt doch, wen ihr wollt*. Aber wählt!
