Die Musik der 80er Jahre umfasste mannigfaltige unterschiedliche Stilrichtungen und zahlreiche Bands, vom alternativen Rock der Pixies über den Synthie-Pop der Blancmange bis hin zum Post-Punk von Theatre Of Hate - für alle Geschmäcker gab's den passenden Sound auf dem Platten-Teller. Weit gefasst und sehr kreativ bleiben die 80s eine der bestimmenden Klang-Dekaden der letzten Jahrzehnte. Während es schwierig ist, New Wave, Gothic Rock oder Post Punk durch eine einzige CD, eine einzige Compilation zu definieren, schafft es der Mitternachtsreigen allmonatlich, große und nicht ganz so große Namen in einer runden Stunde unter einen Hut zu bringen und jedesmal - manchmal mit aktuellen Geschmacksverstärkern - einen kleinen, anregenden Appetithappen auf die 80er Jahre zu servieren.
